Google will allow you to follow the World Cup scores
Google is making the user experience more accessible with updates to its services. Starting November 20, the company is rolling out several updates that make it easier for fans to follow the FIFA World Cup. These include featured videos and customized notifications.
From November 20 to December 18, you can search for ‘World Cup’ on Google to ensure you don’t miss the matches. After this search, you will see a special section at the top with a list of upcoming games with dates and your local time.
On mobile, in the browser, or the Google app, you can set notifications for the teams you want to follow by tapping the ‘bell’ icon in the top right corner of the screen. You can also follow the score wherever you want by tapping on the match you want to watch and dragging and dropping it anywhere on your screen.
These notifications don’t appear to be available for desktops for now. But a unique Google dashboard for the World Cup will show you detailed stats. Google will also help you find venues offering the matches. Simply type ‘Where can I watch the World Cup near me? You will see a list of restaurants or cafes with the tag ‘showing the World Cup.’
The search giant is soon adding the ability to rate a player based on how users think they will perform in the tournament. This feature will also be possible to compare scores with other players.
