Can Artemis Mission change the History of Space Travel?

What is NASA’s Artemis Program?

NASA’s Artemis program is a lunar mission that will explore the Moon and Mars. This program aims to send the first woman and first person of color to the Moon by 2024. Nasa chose the Ancient Greek goddess Artemis, the daughter of Zeus and Leto and the twin sister of Apollo, god of the sun, as the namesake for the expedition to symbolize the program’s feminist goals. The project will be carried out by NASA in collaboration with international and commercial partners: European Space Agency (ESA), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA).

NASA is currently leading a number of Space Launch System (SLS) missions under the Artemis program. The entire Artemis mission depends on NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft.

The first stage of the program will be launched in 2022 when NASA sends an uncrewed spacecraft to orbit the Moon. Artemis 1 was initially scheduled for late 2021, but the launch date was pushed back to 14 November 2022. This mission will help NASA figure out how they can land on the surface of the Moon safely, gather data about its surface, and test new technologies that could be used in future missions.

The second stage of the program will be launched in 2024 when NASA sends a crewed spacecraft to orbit the Moon. This mission will send astronauts to explore and prospect resources from the Moon, eventually getting them back to Earth. The mission will take between eight to ten days. When the astronauts complete their journey, they will have gone further into space than any humans have ever gone before.

The third stage of the program is total colonization, which will happen in 2025. NASA plans to send the first woman and the first person of color to the Moon’s surface as part of the Artemis 3 mission. By 2030, NASA hopes to have a complete human presence on Earth’s closest neighbor, where they can provide supplies for missions and companies that are going there, as well as start mining resources to build a moon base.

The fourth stage of the program is when the United States sends missions to other planets, which will happen in 2035.

In 2024, NASA plans to launch another uncrewed spacecraft called Artemis 2 which will land on the lunar surface and deploy a small rover.

In 2025, NASA plans to launch another crewed mission called Artemis 3 which will take four people for 31 days in space around Earth’s Moon.

In 2027, NASA plans to launch another crewed mission called Artemis 4 which will take three people for six months in space around Earth’s Moon.

The last planned mission is Artemis 5, which will take six people for a year in space around Earth’s Moon.

How Is the Artemis Program Different From the Apollo Missions?

The Apollo missions were a series of space flights in which NASA sent manned spacecraft to the Moon. The first manned mission was Apollo 8 in 1968, and the last was Apollo 17 in 1972. The Apollo 17 men landed in the Taurus-Littrow valley near the Apollo 15 landing site. The Moon is the Earth’s only natural satellite, orbiting us about once every 28 days. It is the sixth largest natural satellite in the solar system and is relatively close, being 28 times farther away from Earth than the sun. The Moon’s gravity pulls on our oceans, stabilizing them as well as keeping Earth’s crust tectonically stable. It is also thought to account for the tides. The Moon’s surface is a rocky debris field composed of ancient volcanic and impacts basaltic plains with some lighter materials in the form of anorthosite (a rock consisting of calcium-bearing plagioclase crystals) and some dark volcanic ash deposited during the cinder cones that make up most of the Moon’s highland areas. The enormous impact crater, Mare Imbrium, is located in one corner.

The Artemis missions are a series of lunar exploration missions by NASA, with the goal of establishing a sustainable human presence on the Moon by 2025, followed by a human mission to Mars in the 2030s. The first three missions, including Artemis 4 and 5, have been called Artemis 1-3. The first three missions are planned to land on the Moon between 2024 and 2028. Artemis 1 is a robotic mission scheduled for launch in 2022 carrying scientific equipment. It will orbit the Moon for about 11 months before landing near one of two target sites: Oceanus Procellarum or Sinus Iridum.

Artemis 2 will launch in 2022 and orbit the Moon for six months. It is scheduled to land at either of two target sites near the equator: Merium or Syrtis Major.

Artemis 3, scheduled for launch in 2024, will attempt to land on the Tycho crater.

NASA and SpaceX to Collaborate on Moon Landing Mission in 2024

In 2024, NASA and SpaceX will collaborate on a mission to send humans back to the Moon for the first time in 50 years. The mission is expected to launch in 2024 with a crew of four astronauts. In 2026, NASA will launch a mission with the goal of landing on Jupiter’s moon, Europa.

The US space agency announced that it had chosen SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket as the launch vehicle for its lunar mission. This will be the first time since 1972 humans have set foot on the Moon. Falcon Heavy will be launched in two stages. The first stage will use three Falcon 9 rockets that have already been used, while the second stage will use a single larger Falcon Heavy rocket with 27 engines. SpaceX’s CEO Elon Musk had previously expressed his desire to launch humans on a trip around Mars by 2022, but this lunar mission is the company’s chance to put a man on the Moon before then. The launch of Falcon Heavy may further draw public attention to US space exploration and will also serve as a test for Musk’s plan to use the rocket for human trips around Mars.

The Future of Space Travel is Exciting With NASA’s New Spacecraft

The future of space travel is exciting with NASA’s new spacecraft, the Orion. NASA has been working on this project for a decade, and it will be the first spacecraft to carry humans in more than 40 years. The biggest obstacle in space travel is getting people to Mars and back safely. The Orion will allow NASA to reach other planets because it can carry cargo, return to Earth and dock with the International Space Station.

The Orion is designed to be able to survive in deep space and will be able to take humans on missions beyond low-Earth orbit and even on trips back to the Moon and beyond. The capsule will be able to hold up to six people and would be used for deep space exploration missions, emergency evacuations, and other commercial activities. It could also help NASA get a better understanding of how long-term missions like the Mars mission may affect human bodies.
