Employee Slaughter at Twitter

Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, which Elon Musk took control of last week and then fired many employees, made statements about the ’employee slaughter’ at his former company.

One of the most exciting events in the technology world recently was the process between Elon Musk and Twitter. After Elon Musk announced that he would buy the company, he gave up, and the two parties were sued. After the lawsuits were filed against each other, Elon Musk finally ended the process by buying Twitter.

As soon as he took over the company, one of Musk’s first acts was to dismiss the majority of the company’s employees. Jack Dorsey, one of the founders of Twitter, made statements about the layoffs.

Dorsey took responsibility

In 2006, Dorsey, who founded the company, stepped down as Twitter CEO a year ago and resigned from the board five months ago. In the correspondence that emerged during the court process, Dorsey’s messages in which he stated that he saw Musk as “the only person who can solve the problems on Twitter” came to light.

Making a statement on Twitter about Musk’s layoffs, Dorsey said, “The people at Twitter, past, and present, are strong and resilient. No matter how difficult the situation is at the time, they find a way. I realize that many are angry with me, and I take responsibility for everyone being in this situation: I grew the company too fast, and I apologize for that.” Dorsey also said that he loves all employees but understands that the feeling is not mutual.

While Dorsey made his first statement about the layoff process today, Twitter employees shared their memories of their former workplaces and their current situation with hashtags.

Speaking on the subject before, Elon Musk explained that the company lost 4 million dollars a day and stated that they paid three months’ notice compensation to everyone who was laid off, 50 percent more than legally determined. Musk’s layoffs focused on human resources, accessibility, AI ethics, and content curation.
